Pair is seeking a Vice President of Wholesale to build and execute a wholesale growth strategy for an exciting and category-defining brand. Ideally you already have a deep appreciation for the Pair brand and product and a career's worth of knowledge navigating the eyewear and apparel wholesale industry. This role will report to our Co-CEO. This is an opportunity for a driven leader to build a wholesale business and team from the ground up and will be a key leader in the Pair business, building strong cross-functional relationships across the business.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build and execute a wholesale growth strategy in the US and internationally by creating and refining a roadmap for the wholesale business with a keen understanding of the eyewear industry in addition to our growth and brand goals
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
  • Build and maintain the wholesale P&L and regularly report on performance vs. expectations
  • Build sales expectations for the wholesale business and determine investment needs for our wholesale strategy, including technology, headcount and marketing needed to achieve sales growth
  • Develop and deepen relationships with all key account representatives and partners
  • Design organizational strategy for our wholesale division and clearly explain headcount needs
  • Collaborate with marketing, product development and supply chain teams to align on key initiatives and achieve sales targets
  • Manage the strategy, buildout and execution of in store materials such as kiosks, retail displays, marketing materials and packaging

Who You Are:

  • You have 8+ years of experience in wholesale sales across the eyewear industry
  • You have established relationships with key wholesale accounts in eyewear and it’s plus if you also have retail relationships in apparel, accessories and/or beauty
  • You have a thorough understanding of the operations and financials of a wholesale business including P&L management and in depth analysis of product performance and selling
  • You have strong retail math acumen, including elements of markup, margin planning, open to buy, inventory productivity measures, and assortment planning
  • You have strong collaboration and creative problem solving skills and are an out-of-the-box thinker who can think creatively about new growth opportunities
  • You have demonstrated experience building, managing and developing teams and developing talent
  • You are entrepreneurial minded and comfortable taking risks, willing to get your hands dirty and dive into the nitty-gritty of the day to day
  • You have excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate both direct and adjacent teams
  • You are great communicator and can act as a spokesperson by pitching and representing the Pair brand
  • You have an eye for design and love working in collaboration with retailers on improving the in-store buying experience

Need to Have:

  • At least 8 years of experience in wholesale sales, preferably in a leadership role at an eyecare brand
  • A track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets within eyewear in the US market
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and developing teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An analytical and strategic mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Familiarity with the eyecare retail industry and current market trends

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working in US and international eyecare retail with deep relationships with retailers around the world
  • You have built a wholesale business / division from the ground up
  • You have past experience in building unique store partnership models that scale
  • You have developed a merchandising strategy alongside product development that aids in scaling wholesale strategy

At Pair, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. The pay range for this position is expected to be between $170,000 - $220,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
