Pair is looking for an experienced optical manufacturing machine operator/technician. In this role, you will be responsible for the prescription manufacturing of our lenses and any other optical components, such as: lens coatings, Dip & AR, as well as lens cutting. You will troubleshoot equipment errors, machine faults & process stoppages. You will clean equipment, and ensure the area is kept organized & clean. You will be the backup to the Process Engineering group and perform machine calibrations as needed. You will troubleshoot orders systematically, utilizing our LMS (Lab Management System).

What You’ll Do:

  • You will ensure all equipment is up and running at the start of the shift, ready for production
  • You will keep a steady flow of incoming orders running through the process
  • Any rejected orders will require your immediate attention. You will proceed to troubleshoot rejected order(s), placing them back into process promptly. Any orders that cannot be resolved you will escalate to the Process Engineering group
  • You will ensure all priority orders are processed in a timely manner
  • You will be the first point of contact for troubleshooting lens defects within your area of responsibility
  • You will escalate any equipment malfunctions and or process outages

Need to Have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Technical background, computer literate, knowledge of Google sheets or Excel

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working in a fast pace prescription lens eyewear manufacturing facility
  • Experience with Schneider Optical Machinery & conveyor systems
  • Experience working with LMS, such as DVI
  • ABO certification

Hourly rate: $21/hr
